According to climate scientists at Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences, the pace of sea level rise is accelerating world wide.  Since 40% of the world population lives within 100km (62 miles) of a coastline, this is important information for those of us in the real estate investment world.

This information is important enough on its own.  However, there are some areas where sea levels are rising faster than others.  Are you investing near a coastline?  Do you know how quickly the sea level is rising in your investment area?

Rising oceans are one of many threats we face as real estate investors.  Accelerating fire patterns has given rise to the term “fire weather.”  Farms and cities are routinely flooding.  Water sources are becoming compromised.

Every real estate investor is being impacted by changes in our weather patterns.  Therefore every real estate investor needs to learn how to keep up-to-date on the changing patterns and how to think ahead to how this will impact the profits from their investments.

Create your own climate watch alert system in Google to keep an eye on your investments.  This is as important to your profitability as building maintenance and needs to become a regular task.
